I picked up a sample size of this at Ulta a couple weeks
ago, and considering that this very product is on sale right now
on The Body Shop's website, I thought my experience
with this could be helpful to some of you out there. To
see my full review, please follow the jump!My skin has recently changed after I began taking birth control
and i've been struggling to find a cleanser that could control
the oil build up that my skin builds up throughout the day.
One of my principle concerns, however, is my rosacea. There
are a lot of theories about what exactly causes rosacea but the one
that seems to make the most sense to me is the existence of micro-
organisms that live inside of your pores/skin that feed on oils.
Basically these critters can irritate the skin and those with rosacea have
been found to have more of them on their skin than those without
rosacea (but as an aside... everyone has these guys, unfortunately!)
The reason I picked this cleanser up was the fact that it has tea tree oil
inside of it. One of the main things that can kill these micro organisms
is this specific oil. So with that in mind I think it is worth the splurge
if you have rosacea affected skin like mine. The effect it has on the skin
has been subtle for me, but I like the cooling sensation it produces and
I believe the redness in my cheek/nose area has been lessened.
If you have sensitive skin (like me) I would recommend only using
this every other day, or just once a day. I find it works better as an
evening cleanser than a morning one. The liquid itself also doesn't
suds up too much, but don't fear, as soon as you apply this to your face
you can feel the tea tree oil cleansing your skin.
The smell is also really lovely, just very earthy-fresh, almost minty!
Considering it's on sale currently, I would recommend this
cleanser! However, I would only buy this on sale as the regular
price is a bit steep for a skin cleanser.
